Meet Blue
Blue’s story began when he was just four weeks old. I rescued him from an unsafe environment where his future could have looked very different, one where he may eventually have been forced to fight.He was far too young to be on his own, so I brought him home and bottle-fed him until he was old enough to eat on his own. From that moment forward, Blue has been by my side. Every day. Like my shadow.But somewhere along the way, the little puppy I thought I was rescuing became one of the greatest friends I would ever have.Blue is everything people are too often told a pit bull isn’t. He’s gentle, affectionate, ridiculously friendly, and genuinely happy to meet just about everyone. He loves his walks especially at his favorite Metropark and there are few words that get him more excited than, “Wanna go bye-bye?”Blue doesn’t simply go places. He makes friends everywhere he goes. The people at the car wash know him. People at our favorite restaurants know him. He’s made so many friends along our walking routes that some actually wait outside for him with treats ready when they see him coming.That’s just Blue.
He doesn’t know that some people judge dogs by their breed. He doesn’t know about the stereotypes attached to pit bulls.
He just loves people.
And maybe that’s one of the greatest things he’s taught me.Blue’s story is at the heart of Pitbulls & Tattoos because this brand was built around the same things he represents: loyalty, individuality, second chances, and refusing to let appearances determine someone’s worth.I may have rescued Blue when he was four weeks old, but the truth is, he’s given me far more than I could ever give him.He’s my shadow.
